This section is going to be about the fauna that you would see in Yellowstone National Park.
There are many animals at Yellowstone, but there are some animals that you would be more likely to see. The first, and most common animal you will see at the park would be the both Black and Grizzly Bears. Both bears are very large, intimidating animals that may be willing to attack if you go near their cubs. They might also travel in packs, so you might have the luck to see many of the creatures during your visit. The next common animal that you might see during your stay is the beautiful Gray Wolf. the Gray Wolf species travel in packs as well as the two types of bears you might see. you might be lucky enough to see wold pups as well as the cubs from the bears. Although beautiful animals that may look quite harmless, they can be very protective of their pack and pups... Especially the males. One of the other animals that you may see is the mighty Bison. the Bison is a very large animal that is like a Buffalo and their calves look very slightly like a cow. The Elk is another common animal that you might be able to see at the park. an elk is a reindeer type of animal with the males having huge antlers and a moose like body. The Elk has a brown coat and some of it is darker than other parts of the body. Yet another common animal of Yellowstone National Park is the Coyote. The coyote is a wolf or a fox type of an animal and has a grayish brown tint to its fur. The coyote has larger ears that stick straight up in the air. The coyote, much like the other dog related animals, are very protective over their young pups and may become aggressive On to the more bigger side of animals, another animal that might be spotted during your trip is the ordinary Moose. A Moose has a long nose, and the males have large plated antlers that swing around to form a bowl like shape. Now for an aquatic animal that you might see while doing water activities, is the river otter. The River Otter looks like a sea otter you might see at a local zoo, and has a very long body, and whiskers on the side of its nose. The River Otter is a light brown color with a lighter white color on their chest One of the more familiar animals you might see is the Wild Horse. Although they look like an ordinary domestic horse, you must remember that they are wild animals, and wont like human interaction as much as domestic horses, so you should be careful around these creatures and not physically interact with them. since they are very beautiful animals, feel free to observe them from a far. These horses can come in all different sizes and colors. There are two different kinds of birds that you might see sight-seeing during your visit. There is the Bald Eagle, and the Trumpeter Swan. The bald eagle is a very large predator bird that searches for pray and swoops down from the sky to retrieve it, so be careful with your belongings. The bald Eagle had a white head with the rest of its body being a dark brown color and having a bright orange beak. The Trumpeter Swan is a very different animal from the Bald Eagle. it is an all white bird with a tan neck and a very dark black beak with some orange and black duck like legs that like to swim in water, very much like a duck. the Trumpeter Swan can indeed fly, but is not a predator bird and does not hunt for pray, so you don't have to worry as much about them. |
